MATTHEW J SHRIBMAN
Matthew is a scientist, environmentalist and musician.
John Mitchinson (of Unbound and QI) and Matthew had the idea for A Piece of String after meeting on a hill in the north of Wales.
Fran is biochemist by training, according to her CV, but spends more time these days as a teacher in London.
Her interests are in medical science and genetics; sadly these rarely overlap with her areas of expertise, which include playing the ukulele (poorly) and talking about being a Geordie.
JOSIE A PETERS
Josie is an astrophysicist, science presenter, improviser and artist.
By day, she thinks slowly about the evolution of galaxies and by night, thinks quickly on stage with The Oxford Imps. In all those moments in-between, she can either be found making YouTube videos, drawing cartoons or singing very loudly.
James is a engineer and musician.
When he’s not doing either of those things he’s probably milling about.
Sam Lea is our man of sound: our producer, editor and composer.
Sam's credits range from recordings for the London Festival of Contemporary Choral Music, Eric Whitacre's Virtual Choir and the Choir of St Magnus The Martyr, through to airplay of his own music on BBC Radio 1 and 6Music.
